TWs: Violence/death, physical abuse, age gap, innocent/sheltered FMC
I was really pleasantly surprised by this book. Vittoria was such a strong woman and she was the perfect match for Angelo. She really softened all of his hard edges and taught him what love was. Once he discovered what all she had been through he was really all in. I do feel like there was some family drama that could've been resolved faster but everything was figured out in the end. I am also a sucker for a pet name/nickname and every time Angelo called Tori his little deer in Italian, l swooned over and over. This was a great start to this series.

For being the head of the mafia, Angelo was a little too golden retriever for me. I loved how sweet he was to Vittoria though so I just ignored the mafia aspect.
My only disappointment was she never got her quiet, white picket fence life. I kept hoping he’d surprise her with a getaway house that fulfilled her fantasy, especially in the epilogue once they had kids, but it never happened.
