Dr. Desmond is a widow raising his daughter with the help of his parents. His wife died after giving birth to their daughter leaving him heartbroken and sweet little Esa motherless. Yara is a young woman with a passion for kids, especially ones who share her circumstances of having lost their mothers. She owns her own school where she focuses on education and grief counseling to help children deal with their feelings. Esa happens to be one of her students, and poor little Esa is not only grieving the loss of her mother but she’s lonely for her father who is always away because he’s a doctor who’s forever on call. Esa is withdrawn with everyone except her grandparents and Yara. Yara has a special place in her heart for little Esa. That place becomes even more special when she meets Esa’s father, Dr. Desmond Wilder. But this isn’t their first time meeting each other. And it’s a calculated meet up by sweet little Esa. This story is about healing as well as love. Desomond and Esa gain healing from Yara. Yara and Desmond find love that they didn’t expect to ever find. This story is a tear jerker that touches on so much emotional trauma that comes with grief from children to adults. I loved that it touched on the racism and disregard that black women face with child birth.

Desmond aka Doc and Yara aka Boss Lady 🥰 a feel good soft love story with a little grief. Desmond lost his wife Veronica after childbirth to their daughter Esabella aka Esa. 6yrs had pasted and Esa, now old enough to realize she didn’t have a mother like other kids, was dealing as best she could. She attended Angel’s Academy that focused on kids that had lost parents and provided grief counseling along with academia. This was Yara’s facility in honor of her own mother who was neglected after childbirth and died. Having gone thru herself, she knew the kind of place she wanted to offer kids like her. Doc worked lots of hours at the hospital and his parents helped him out tremendously. By chance he picked up Esa early from school and met Yara. Only it was the 2nd time after their 1st encounter was spicy in a club bathroom left to be only a one time occasion. After seeing and recognizing each other, sparks and feelings started. Yara always had a favorite place for Esa and not even realizing who her father was. Esa yearning for motherly attention always felt a connection with Yara as well. Glad they were able to overcome and eventually marry and welcome a son. It was cute ☺️
