All present had differing opinions about this book. Some were confused by the author's fusion of genres, others were turned off by the sci-fi/magical fantasy/ elements, while others found it to be an intriguing tale that begged questions about our human genetic make-up as individuals as it relates to the make-up in a community, as well as all living organisms vying for its/our places in this microcosm of community, world, universe etc....We also found it amazing that a male author could effectively tell this tale from a first person female perspective. We also agreed that the book made us want to EAT SOURDOUGH BREAD & quickly the conversation turned to where we could get good sourdough (Publix & Trader Joes), when TJ will be opening in PTC, and who actually makes bread. While some do bake bread, no one keeps starter for making sourdough bread. But there's hope.....
