I was very surprised at how intense this book got!! For my first Sanderson book, I can’t wait to read more of his series! This felt so much like Fourth Wing without spice or dragons. Still such a fun read and plenty of funny moments!!

Re-read: loved it just as much the second time around. M-Bot for life. M-Bot has my heart.

First Read: First time reading a sci-fi/space opera type of book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Excited to dive into the rest of the series, that epilogue hooked me!

I’m sick and I still stayed up until 1am to finish the last 250 pages of this book because it was too good not too. Sanderson is an amazing author and has roped me in with some of his other works. I just love Spensa, and I love the intrigue and mystery behind their home world. I love how it ended- open ended so that a sequel can be made but also providing a satisfying amount of answers. For me, there wasn’t really any lulls in the story. Sometimes the training segments can feel like a drag but I loved them for the way they developed personal relationships between Spin and the other cadets.

I can’t wait to pick up book 2!
