I waited one year for this book and was so excited when I finally got it. Unfortunately it was a dissapointment. It's like Alex Aster's writing got even worse or maybe I was only able to deny it the last two books because of the plot twists and the good story itself. Even though the book has almost 400 pages, every scene was over so fast and Alex didn't took her time go into a scene more deeply. One crazy thing happened but the next sentence it was already over.
I also had the feeling the sentences weren't really well connected, more like a child would talk which made it very hard to read. Some moments I was so confused what was going on?! I'm sorry to say this but a good story isn't all you need to write a good book so maybe firstly work on your writing style before publishing it?
Speaking of childish, I really did not like Isla in this book, she had such a childish and selfish behaviour, I couldn't stand her!
I hope the next part get's better if I am even going to read it.
This was a disgrace to the first two books smh. The first half was a bunch of random quests/trials - and for what? I couldn’t tell you. The magic system is all over the place now as well, imo, and the world makes no sense. There were a lot of typos and other editing issues (from being rushed, possibly?). But this whole book was unsatisfying and largely unnecessary. I liked Isla in the first two, she was insufferable in this one. The love triangle is totally forced at the end just to claim the love triangle trope. And um…idk I feel like this one was a bit too horny to claim YA still? Just me?
