I had this book on my tbr because of a funny line I saw someone read from the book on TikTok and I'll be honest, it was touch and go there for a while; I did not like Skye all that much. I found her to be funny at times but my feelings stayed neutral about her as a character all the way to the end.
Skye is a whole MESS of a character. As the book progresses we get insights as to why she is the way that she is but she still doubles down on her messy actions and mentality despite that. Vicki is the heart of this story and she anchors Skye in the moment which is something she desperately needs in her life. Skye's been running (metaphorically and literally) from relationships, complications, connection, feelings, her past and general Adulthood for years.
While I don't think everyone has to be stationary to find happiness and self fulfillment in their lives I do believe understanding our feelings and traumas of our past can help us in the present.
I will give more details soon.

Selected this after perusing the Lambda book award winners for something fiction. So happy I came across this queer love story. I found myself smiling throughout this story. Skye had me laughing (and crying) multiple times. Loved that it was set in Philadelphia as well.
Loved this book - if you like Philly, all the more reason to read it too.
