Enjoyable read that eventually got me thinking even deeper about perception, family, commitment, etc. I really enjoyed this.
This is a beautiful story about the complicated relationship between two sisters fleeing a war torn Shanghai. Through the girls scarily raw moments of suffering, we come along on a painful journey with them as the sisters arrive to America in arranged marriages. This one occupied my mind long after I put it down, but it does touch sensitive topics that could be uncomfortable for some to read.
