The third of the foundation trilogy has a lot going for it compared to the second but I did not quite enjoy as much as the first. In this one we follow more of the human psychology of the characters such as the Mule and Arcadia which I thought was pretty well done compared to the other two books. We get to learn more and Asimov handled the characterization pretty well. The ending was little lackluster and had a problem that was my biggest issue with this book which I will metion later. The second part of the book was probably one of my favorite of all the foundation, with the idea of the Foundations reliance on the Second Foundation makes them not succeed in the plan since they don't strive to save themselves from threats. In addition some of the Foundation members distaste of being controlled and wanting to get rid of the second foundation because of that is logical. My biggest problem with the book is how each character pulled the "actually you thought". Every time someone thought they were smarter then the enemy, they were smarter and planed exactly for that, it felt forced at times. Overall better then the second but not as solid as the first. As this is a trilogy I think I will stop my foundation read here even though I know there are more books.
