Saving Noah

We forigve murderers, not pedophiles.

Not since Lionel Shriver brought us We Need to Talk About Kevin has a writer delved into the complexities of a disturbed mother/son relationship. Until now.

Meet Noah-an A-honor roll student, award-winning swimmer, and small-town star destined for greatness. There weren't any signs that something was wrong until the day he confesses to molesting little girls during swim team practice. He's sentenced to eighteen months in a juvenile sexual rehabilitation center.

His mother, Adrianne, refuses to turn her back on him despite his horrific crimes, but her husband won't allow Noah back into their home. In a series of shocking and shattering revelations, Adrianne is forced to make the hardest decision of her life. Just how far will she go to protect her son?

Saving Noah challenges everything you think you know about teenage sexual offenders. It will keep you up at night long after you've read the last page, questioning beliefs you once thought were true.

Told from the mother's perspective. It's such a heartbreaking story and really makes you think hard if you are a parent. The twist at the end I didn't see coming.

Pretty sad, devastating, traumatic book.
Overall a great read that has you feeling so many emotions. It was too much at sometimes and I needed to take a break. You could feel the emotions of the MC and how difficult the situation is for her.
I can’t even imagine as a mother what she is going through but the author does an amazing job and conveying those powerful emotions.
What a sad twist, it’s a sad book. That’s all I can say.
Beautifully written but still sad.

Saving Noah by Lucinda Berry is a chilling psychological thriller about a mother torn between love and horror when her teenage son confesses to an unthinkable crime. As he faces the consequences, she grapples with judgment, guilt, and the limits of unconditional love. This powerful story challenges readers to confront the darkest corners of morality, family, and forgiveness. I read Saving Noah by Lucinda Berry nearly a year ago, and I still think about it. This book wrecked me in the best, most haunting way. It's one of those rare stories that crawls under your skin and stays there, challenging everything you thought you knew about love, morality, and what it means to be a parent. As a reader, I tried to put myself in the mother’s shoes—and honestly, it shook me. Her decisions, her strength, her pain… I kept asking myself: What would I do if I were her? And I still don’t have an answer. This book tackles an incredibly controversial topic that’s hard to even talk about, but Lucinda Berry handles it with boldness and empathy. It’s not an easy read—but it’s an important one. And I’ll never forget it.

Saving Noah is hands down the most powerful Lucinda Berry novel I’ve read this year. It’s a devastatingly tragic and deeply emotional story, yet it’s written with such grace and beauty that you can’t help but be completely absorbed. The anguish of the mother is so raw and palpable that it stays with you long after you close the book. This novel is not for the faint of heart—it’s heartbreaking, shocking, and incredibly heavy, with a jaw-dropping twist that leaves you reeling. Some readers might find themselves crying, others may need to take a break to process the emotional weight. It’s an absolute must-read, but I strongly recommend checking the trigger warnings, as it deals with highly disturbing subject matter, including SA.

This was a roller coaster ride of many different emotions. I couldn't decide how I should feel throughout the book. As a mom it really made me question what I would do and I still don't know what I would do if I was in a similar situation with my child. The twist at the ending blew my mind and I didn't see that at all.
