My dad bugged me to read this book ever since I was in high school. On one hand, he was right, this book is certainly with the time (I finished it in 1 day). On the other hand, I gained a new appreciation and understanding of the words “rich,” “wealth,” and “money,” only after I started earning an income. I suspect this book wouldn’t have felt as relevant back in high school.

This book was groundbreaking work that can change the perspective of what money and wealth is to you. I’m not giving it 5 stars because it is not a step by step guide to financial freedom, and copying the author’s personal examples doesn’t guarantee you’ll become a rich dad or a rich mom. However, it does inspire me to continue learning while keeping “asset vs. liability” in mind. The book is also, surprisingly, timeless & would be a good book to review in the future.

I recommend this book to all those who are open to thinking outside the box about finance, those who “think like the middle class,” those with academic accolades but had little education about wealth.

Some good nuggets in there for sure, some questionable ones too though. Definitely got me interested in doing more research into real estate investing. It’s a quick read so I’d say it’s worth it if for no other reason than as motivation to keep learning about different ways to grow your finances.

Robert Kiyosaki really broke down his financial philosophies/action-plan. It was quite a revelation to see how so many ideas passed down to us are taken for granted and not challenged. Robert challenges those ideas to encourage individuals to take new action and gain financial competence.
