This book made me love Marissa Meyer. I'm not usually a sci-fi fan, but this book was so well done that I have to love it. The powers are cleverly written and the characters are fun.
The little romance going on is cute and the story itself is intriguing. I love the idea of a villain infiltrating a hero organization, especially when that hero organization isn't a perfect utopic thing. It adds depth, knowing that the hero society is trying, but not always succeeding. And Nova really is a fun main character to follow.
This book was so addicting and it was so hard to stop once I started. All of the characters were really diverse and well written and they were all so interesting and fun to learn about. Nova is a villain, but as she becomes one of the Renegades, she starts to question her morals and allegiances more, which really shows in this book. The worldbuilding was really unique and the concept of getting superpowers from traumatic events is really interesting. Max is an absolutely adorable character but considering how important he is to the plot, something terrible will probably happen to him.
