I really liked this one - I thought the author did a great job weaving the story through multiple characters points of view. If you're looking for a bit of suspense, I'd recommend checking it out.
This is our January 2014 bookclub selection. I enjoyed the mystery, but didn't enjoy the subject matter.I could not relate nor did I like any of the characters. It is definitely not a "feel good" escape to a better place kind of read. I'm anxious for our bookclub discussion to hear others' comments.

It took me a while to get to that point in a book where you couldn't wait for the next time you got back to reading it again, but once I was there, the book called to me throughout the day to pick it up again. The character of Amelia was so well drawn that her story will haunt me for some time. But, interestingly, although I was like Kate, a single mother at a high-powered job, her character won't stick with me the way her daughter's will. I think that's because I could definitely relate to Amelia's need to fit in, and the pain of humiliation dealt by "mean girls", while I absolutely could not relate to Kate's lack of friends and total absence of relationships as Amelia grew up.
