I would pay money to read this for the first time again. Andy Weir made the science so accessible that it allowed the story to shine through without bogging it down. Rocky is the best! He had the best lines out of the whole book. Probably my best read of 2024.
I loved this book! Funny, clever and heart warming. Lots of science, yet not overwhelming and the story was captivating. Would recommend
I loved it! From the very first page, it captured my attention and appreciation. While I can understand and question some of the science related to microbiology, I know next to nothing about astrophysics, chemistry, or the other fields discussed. Yet, Andy Weir makes it all seem both plausible and believable. However, the reason I love this book isn't just the science, urgency, mission, suspense, or survival aspectsāit's because of Rocky. In many ways, I appreciate this book for the same reasons I enjoy certain superhero movies that revolve around teamwork to save the world. Itās quirky, funny, nerdy, and filled with heart and love. The bond between Rocky and Ryland is wonderfully soppy, and Iām all for it.
