I feel like this book confirms my suspicions that there must be a ghostwriter. I have noticed a number of continuity errors in the overall plotline of the series, including in this book. This book felt like a completely different book and the characters felt unfamiliar. Overall, the book felt like it needed much more editing as the pacing was really off, there was a lot of repetition within the book and within the series, and there was really no plot development overall. A lot of the dialogue and situations didn't make sense. The heavy puritanical tone seemed really off, especially for a book written in 2023. I've also noticed mention of avoiding preservatives or artificial dyes in a couple of the books even though many of the recipes use boxed cake mix which contains both. This series had been getting me through a really difficult time as I appreciate the fluffiness and comfort from the recipes, but the quality has really declined in the last few books which is disappointing.
