Ok the cover alone was enough to get me to read this book and I’m so glad I did. JT Geissinger slayed it! A twist that will have you saying out loud “What the F$*%”

Kayla buries her husband Michael, who drowned in a boating accident. Then, letters begin to arrive from Dante, a man who is too good to be true. What begins as playful curiosity turns intimate, obsessive, and increasingly unsettling. The story walks a careful line between romance and something far darker. Mystery and dread are layered beneath every interaction until the haunting truth starts to crack through. There is a lot of spice in this book. I kept wondering why there was a plot alongside my smutty romance. Aiden talks Kayla through it in scenes so hot that you'll need to pause the audiobook just to recover. Troy Duran leans into that intensity with confidence and a gravelly voice that does things to you. While Tara Langella gives Kayla a softness that makes her unraveling feel like your own feelings. Their vocal dynamic fuels the connection between the characters. The chemistry is strong, though the intentional tone shifts to the plotline can feel jarring as the story moves from seduction to unraveling the mystery of the home being haunted. In the second part of the book, the entire perspective is reframed in a matter of minutes. Suddenly every detail clicks into place with eerie precision. The twist is bold, unique, and makes you gasp. The reveals make you reconsider every moment that came before. I had the urge to go back and find the puzzle pieces that were left for the reader to piece together the truth of Kayla, Michael, and Aiden. Pen Pal is not a lovey dovey story. It is messy, haunting, mysterious, and hot. Pen Pal will keep your attention if you enjoy spicy romance that plays with reality and leaves you questioning what you just read.

This was such an interesting read. So many people have recommended this book to me. The ending really ties everything together and really blows your mind. This is a Romancy - Thriller. I was confused but everything came together and you're just like Ah-HA!

The plot twist saved this book. The actual romance and spicy scenes were genetic, bland, and a little too cringe. The plot twist was good though.
