In my opinion, Outlawed was overrated and predictable, but not a bad read. I wish that the author had taken a bit longer to develop the early parts of the story that actually interested me. Once the main plot line got rolling there was little left to be desired. The characters were enjoyable and the dynamic between the women is what kept me reading
Thought provoking situations, while reading it was hard to determine whether this book was fiction or nonfiction. Characters were flat, but the discussions that resulted from this book were deep!
I just happened upon this book at a book exchange party and I am so glad I did! I had no idea I would be reading about a gang of barren women, exiled from their frontier communities- feared to be contagions or witches. I was wrapped from start to finish.
Interesting premise that would be served by much more story. The plot feels rushed and patronizing given the great premise but shallow exposition.
