Only for the Week (The Forever Falling Series)

“Sexy and oh so satisfying.” —Award-winning author Rebekah Weatherspoon

The buzzy, viral sensation Only For The Week, is the first book in Natasha Bishop’s The Forever Falling series, featuring Black love, messy family dynamics, sexy banter, and sweet and spicy romance.

You are cordially invited to the wedding of Amerie Cross and Arnold Hightower.

A destination wedding in Tulum should be a breeze, but Dr. Janelle Cross—the sister of the bride and the ex-girlfriend of the groom—can’t catch a break. Between her maid of honor duties, her sister’s Bridezilla antics, and her family tiptoeing around her non-existent feelings for her ex, Janelle is desperate to let off some steam. So, when the best man, Rome, proposes they give into their undeniable chemistry, Janelle agrees, under one condition: their affair can only last a week.

What happens in Tulum doesn’t always stay in Tulum . . .

For Rome Martin, Janelle has always been off limits. She’s his best friends ex, and Rome is nothing if not loyal. But he’s never been able to get her off his mind, and now he might finally have a chance to win her over.

As the wedding brings them together, every kiss, adventure, and stolen moment feels right. Janelle and Rome agreed to live in the moment, but are they willing to risk it all for forever?

Paired with: The mezcalita— smoky, citrusy, and bold. This book was everything I didn’t know I needed — fun, flirty, messy in the best way, and full of that “I can’t put it down” energy. Natasha Bishop gave us characters that felt real — the kind who make you laugh, roll your eyes, and cheer for love even when it’s complicated. What I loved most was how she balanced desire and vulnerability. It’s not just a spicy romance; it’s about timing, growth, and allowing yourself to feel something genuine, even when it’s just “for the week.” There’s a certain beauty in how short moments can still change you — and Bishop captured that perfectly. And let’s talk about the mezcalita pairing — smoky, sweet, and just dangerous enough. It matched the book’s mood flawlessly: bold like the main character’s choices and smooth enough to sip on while flipping pages. Every time the mezcal hit, I thought, yep, this is exactly what this story tastes like. If you’re in the mood for a quick escape filled with chemistry, laughter, and just the right amount of chaos, Only for the Week deserves a spot on your nightstand (and a mezcalita in your hand).

I enjoyed how multiple storylines were maintained separately yet connected. I always enjoy a woman being loved the way she deserves. I also appreciate experiencing the nuances of family relationships and revelations of why issues exist. This was a well written story that I’d love to read more of…

I really enjoyed this book! It’s a cute story about love, friendship, and family that shows how your person should always have your back and support you—especially when it comes to family and friends. The dialogue between the characters was great, and the narration was really well done too. It’s also a sweet reminder that sometimes your person is closer than you think—maybe even right under your nose the whole time. I’d definitely recommend this book!

This was an easy read. It was rather predictable.
