These Amazon collections are fun and easy reads but they are almost too quick sometimes. This one made almost zero sense for me. It was annoying and fairly unrealistic from top to bottom - if I hadn’t talked to my ex-best friend in 10 years because she cut me off due to the crush I had on her older brother and then she suddenly invited me to be apart of her destination wedding, I would have never gone. The lack of communication to make this storyline work is just not my jam. Is it cute and fun for an easy summer read? Sure, but the plot holes were a lot for me and made me pretty disinterested in the characters.
One Hot Summer Wedding is another fun, fast-paced short romance that left me wanting more from the characters.
Lucy and Beckett’s dynamic really works, especially with the forced proximity of them sharing a hotel room. Their second chance romance has just enough history and tension to make their interactions engaging in this short story.
I loved the Costa Rica setting and wedding festivities—it adds a nice tropical backdrop that makes the story feel even more like a summer escape.
