ATE…IT…UP! Bring me back to the twilight days why don’t you! Anise…you have done it again! I loved this book so much. I think what I liked most was that it wasn’t your average vampire story. It was kind of an action story filled with some intense moments but like in a fun way. I was honestly on the edge of my seat the entire time wanting the mystery aspect of the book to be solved!
I really liked the characters in this book. Lucien and Raven were just such good characters. I mean from their past life issues, to they behaviors and mannerisms were just really created well. I think the most compelling part of this story was the plot. I also appreciated the approach to vampires in this story. It was not the same as what we normally see on TV and in movies. It honestly felt more realistic to me. Like something natural. I was really impressed by that.
I loved Raven. She was such a fighter, and from the minute she was introduced, I knew she would make Lucien fall head over heels. It was so cute. Lucien also made me laugh. He was so fun to read the perspective of. And his feelings for Raven were just beautiful.
I would read anything by Anise because I love her writing style and I love her take on certain topics. With this book, even though it was a different genre of romances, she executed it very well in my opinion. I went into this with no expectations especially with all the various vampire romances, but she made it really fun and I also noticed how she incorporated other supernatural creates.
I highly recommend this book. It was fun, lighthearted and just an overall great experience. Thank you Anise for letting me read this! I had a blast!
