Off the Hook: Never Harbor, Book 1

I really have been on a romance kick lately and I’m loving it! This story is so swoony and I went through such a wave of emotions, everywhere from smiles and laughs to ugly tears but I enjoyed all of it. Per usual I was attracted to the small town setting but I wasn’t initially attracted to the single dad trope. I’m not sure why but it isn’t a typical interest of mine, however, in this case it worked for me. Jasper’s battle with his grief while working to be strong for Sam was so human and although I couldn’t relate based on experience, I felt emotionally connected to him. I also enjoyed Wendy. She is sweet and amazing with Sam, and all she wanted was to belong and feel loved so I was so happy for her when she started connecting with Jasper. The one thing I wasn't a huge fan of when I was reading was the pirate theme, but afterwards I saw that this series is Peter Pan inspired which made me rethink everything. It made me fall in love with everything even more and I already have book two downloaded because I need more of Never Harbor!
