Great mystery/thriller. Did an immersive read with the audiobook. Highly recommend. The audio really brings the podcast/docuseries aspect alive.
None Of This Is True just didn’t do it for me. I found the characters pretty bland and not all that engaging and the plot felt predictable, I kept waiting for a twist that never really surprised me. The ending had a cliffhanger, but honestly, I don’t feel the need to follow up on it. Just an overall forgettable read for me. I like some of her other books (Family Upstairs) but wouldn’t recommend this one IMO.
⭐️⭐️
Wasn’t bad, but it was not the “page turner” it was advertised to be. Very mid for me.
4.5 Stars, Rounded Up
This book hooked me from the first chapter and I could not put it down. I donât think Iâve devoured a book this quickly and with such fervor in a long, long time.
The novel follows podcaster Alix Summer. On her 45th birthday a woman named Josie approaches her in a pub bathroom saying, âhi, Iâm your birthday twin!â This introductory sentence will eventually become the title of Alixâs true crime podcast with herself at the center of the story.
This is my first book by Lisa Jewell but it wonât be my last. I loved her conversational writing style and it quickly wrapped me up in the story. I thought I knew where things were going from 40% on, but I continued to be shocked right to the very end.
Many thanks to Simon & Schuster, NetGalley, and Lisa Jewell for an Advanced Reader Copy of âNone of This is Trueâ. Publication date: August 8, 2023.

This is one twisty, addictive thriller much like some of those Netflix shows that you canât stop binge watching. Lisa Jewell for me is a stand out in this genre because her characters typically have some depth and the plots are not predictable or cliché. Jewell tells us from the outset that none of this is true but you still keep reading wondering which part is true? Highly recommend. Be sure to read the interview from Shondaland with Lisa Jewell when youâre done.
