This series has gone way downhill... nothing much happened in this book, there was a lot of sitting around and talking until about page 300. Why do Sophie and Josh bother learning the elemental magics if they never use them? And the fact that there's always some excuse for someone not to use magic (it will let the monsters know their location, their aura is being drained by the ship thing they're flying on, etc) is really frustrating. The twist ending was pretty good though... hope the last book is better
