I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Siuan and Moiraine as young Aes Sedai. I can see them becoming who they are in the main series, I can see that even them two had to work to achieve the typical "Aes Sedai calm". And I really liked this chance to get to know Moiraine better, as I see her in a new light now. I can better appreciate now who she is and why Rand is so important to her.
Lan and Moiraine each are fighting their own battle, running from someone, but their paths soon cross. Realizing their respective battles are against the same enemy, they soon become the team we know so well from the series.
I only gave this book 4 stars because I feel like a lot of the action was pushed into a really small section at the end of the book. The beginning was a little slow, and then, BAM! Everything happens at once, then it's over.
Regardless of that, I loved this book. It's another great addition to the wonderful Robert Jordan created for us. The Wheel of Time will always hold a very special place in my heart. This fantasy series does not get the recognition and acclaim it deserves in the world of fantasy books.
