I throughly enjoyed this book. It was an easy and fun read. I absolutely love the storyline and the characters. I relate so much to Meryn. I wish we could be friends in real life. She is hilarious.
The only reason I didn’t give this book a 5 star rating is because I wasn’t a big fan of the writing. I felt like things happened way to fast. Very unrealistically so. While I know in most romance novels the main characters fall in love within a short period of time, this was even faster. Like they meet and bam! I love you. It kinda felt childish in a way, I guess. But some scenes in the book could have used more descriptions or not been rushed. I just felt like some thing could have been elaborated on or she could have gone farther with the scene. I also feel like I didn’t get enough of a background story. You get glimpses of the the characters history but not enough. Kinda bare minimum. And I don’t think she elaborated enough on why the spell was cast or what exactly happened. Left me with a lot of unanswered questions that I feel should have been answered in a first book.
Overall, it’s a good book if you can over look the writing. The storyline is good, the characters are lovable, and it’s humorous. I spent most of the book laughing at whatever Meryn was saying or doing. Honestly the humorous part is probably what saved this book in my opinion. Will I ever reread this book? Probably not. But will I read the others? Maybe. If I’m waiting on other books in the series I read to be released. It’s an easy read. I read it within 24 hours.
