I enjoyed the overall mystery of this book, even though I had guessed the murderer early on. I did not however, guess the motive and other important details of the case. My main problem with this story is Daisy Wells. Frankly, she's just a bully. Several times in the story she calls the narrator-Hazel Wong and her supposed best friend names like "stupid" or a "chump." Since this book is in the POV of a (possibly) eighth grader (... the UK form system confused me). I think that it's not beneficial to have a main character be such a brat especially with (at least in America) the bullying issues that have come to light in the past several years. That's just my two cents on that topic without going overboard on the topic of bullying and impressionable young teens.

I will be reading the other books in the future, especially considering I own all of the UK editions. Based on reviews here on GoodReads I don't suggest reading the US edition of this book (Murder is Bad Manners... seriously?), I read that the language is quite confusing. I didn't have a problem with that, outside of the forms in the story, especially since there is a glossary at the end of the book to help with the slang.

I bought my copy of this book as well as the others from bookdepository.com.
