This book wasn’t all that good but it wasn’t all bad either. It was a slow burn and it took awhile for the plot to thicken and for me to gain real interest. Wouldn’t read again but it’s a decent book to pass time en route to a vacay.
At some points;it felt like the details were unnecessary, but another part I was able to picture certain scenes in my head. It was a good read; overall. Slow burn.
Everyone has been talking the book up, but for some reason I couldn’t read it when everyone else was. I also feel like I’ve read this before but that could be just the connection to the book.
I will say that Marley had it bad off rip. With a home wrecking mama, a dead fiance and baby, I too would’ve been a shell of a woman. However, when the dead haunts you…I would’ve taken out the whole bloodline.
Czar had his own trauma and my god I felt for him. His mama was so wrong and I just felt like he was doing everything and still left to clean up the mess. DV is a heck of a troubling situation. Thank God they got their HEA.
SN: the secondary characters had me cracking up. I love Sammy and Romeo’s craziness. Nova was a hoot and Uncle was too funny. I couldn’t stand Tati. Whew! Maybe I just expected Czar to do more when she was concerned, but hell men never make bold moves to shut a thot down.

Best Book of the Year! If you want drama and so many plot twists-read this book!
It took me a second to get into this, but I really enjoyed it! So many laugh-out-loud moments, I loved them all! Marley got on my nerves near the end there but everyone reacts to trauma differently. I look forward to more from Ms. Ladii!!
