Long Walk To Freedom

I took a detour from my planned reads to take a deeper look at the apartheid system in South Africa. Current events have described the experiences of white south Africans as "genocide" and I just thought the audacity was beyond me. I wanted a deeper understanding of the systems created by colonizers from the perspective of those who suffered from them, and this read did just that! Nelson Mandela sacrificed his freedom to fight for equality and justice for all South Africans and played a crucial role in helping to dismantle the system of apartheid. I recommend this read for anyone wanting a factual account of the history of apartheid and its effects on South Africans at the hands of colonizers.
