This book seriously helped me and my husband on our journey of love, therapy, and life. The passion, dialog, and characters were all consuming.

I just finished this novel and felt like some of the comments where really unfair -

I really enjoyed this book and got swept away with the emotions of how awful her childhood was.

I liked the book enough to go back and start reading his parents story, as this is the first Molly McAdams books I have read.

This is one of those books that is hard for me to rate. I've got to think about a rating as I jot down a few of my thoughts.

Did I like this book? Um, some parts were ok and others most definitely were NOT ok.

In general, I normally enjoy a book with damaged characters who have gone through "heavy duty" stuff in their past. I enjoy it when these characters experience growth throughout the book.

Our main character, Emma, definitely had a rough childhood. I could totally understand some of her personality traits. What I didn't understand is how she could loathe the other main character, Reed, and want him all at the same time. Is everyone different? Yes, of course. If I loathe someone (even if he is the most handsome man in the world), the last thing I'm thinking about is screwing him. I'm actually trying to stay the hell away from him. But that's just me. So this was a bit of a disconnect for me. Yep, I know there is a thing called the "hate f*ck" and if it works for you, well...

Emma was hot and cold and she gave me whiplash - a LOT. I really thought she was immature in a lot of situations. And she apologized for E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G! This detracted from my enjoyment.

Reed was the most patient man to ever grace the pages of a book. This made him seem not real at all. I didn't really understand his attraction to Emma since she was such as ass when she first came into town. I didn't feel there was any reason for Reed to want to even get to know her.

My bottom line is that there were maybe too many things that I didn't care for while listening to this one. I know I'll never revisit this again in the future. Ultimately I'm settling on 1 star for this one.

I'm in the minority again it seems so read this one if you're so inclined. You may enjoy it better than I did and I hope you do.
