WOW!...wow, wow, wow! This book was not like anything I expected it to be and I am so immensely glad. The three stories weave seamlessly together but still stand their own ground. The characters are creative and witty and the stories are filled with humor and adventure and...LOVE! I am not sure who came up with the idea but these authors produced such a wonderful book together. The first story is written by Maureen Johnson (who I now want to read much more from). We are introduced to ultimately all of the important characters but we just don't know it yet. Her story is hilarious and heartfelt, a combination that I totally didn't expect. The second story is written by John Green and he lives up to his reputation once again producing an adventure filled story that still keeps the Christmas spirit and love alive. The final story is written by Lauren Myracle (another author I want to explore more from). This story provides the more serious tone of the meaning of Christmas but somehow finds a way to twist back in every other character we have already met throughout the book. The last few pages were BRILLIANT and this novel ends with a perfect tied bow just like a Christmas present. GO READ THIS BOOK!!!
This is a pathetic excuse for a book. Rather shocking that its coming from the stables of John Green who reduced us to tears with the Fault in our Stars.
The Jubilee Express - Why is this so funny to me. Haha! It’s cute and I laughed out load multiple times.
Noah is a poooooooohead
I think I like this one best.
A Cheertastic Christmas Miracle - Oh to be a teenager again and go traipsing through the snow like it’s nothing. These kids are nuts. Also, my life as a teen was never this ridiculous. Where do I get adventures like this?
The Patron Saint of Pigs - okay. One: why does Addy think it’s okay to bring a pig to work? Two: why is Dory pissed off that Addy got busy at work?! Has she ever been inside a Starbucks? You can’t just walk away when there’s a bunch of customers.
Addy may be a little self centred, but her friends suck. You can’t just do these things while you’re at work. If this was real life she would have been fired. Masie also sucks. What a dick move. What was the point?

First of all, I'm not a big fan of short stories in general. I feel like it isn't enough time or space for the author and the readers to really get to know and care about the characters. I think that in this case it was done very well (it also helps that all of the characters were mentioned and appeared in the other stories), but I wouldn't go so far as to say that these stories were an exception.
I had never read Maureen Johnson before, so I was pleasantly surprised. I loved her writing style, the characters were all likable and, mostly, her part of the story flowed nicely. My only complaint about the Jubilee Express is that, due to the short length, it did feel rushed and a little forced at times.
Of course, as I had expected, John Green's was my favorite story of the three. Not very much happened in it, but every aspect of it was simply great; the writing, the characters. The angle he used, the characters being friends already, made it feel a lot more natural than the romance between Jubilee and Stuart. Although, it did feel a little bit like he had suddenly started liking her out of nowhere, at times, but overall it was great.
I was honestly a little surprised with Myracle. I had read some of her work before, so I was really looking forward to the last story of the three. But unlike in other books I have read of hers, the writing didn't feel as natural. I was also a little disappointed that we didn't see Jeb's story, but I do think it was important to see Addie's point of view on their breakup, and it wasn't a bad way of wrapping things up. My only complaint, although it is a big one, is that I don't think she managed it as well as she could have.
