Definitely a 2.5 star rating but rounded up to 3. I found the storyline to be very dull. There were a few enjoyable moments and interesting parts.

My book club really enjoyed this book. The character development of side characters and plot line were intriguing, the synchronicities of certain characters paths was endearing, and the motif of empowering though education and taking charge in your life was very inspiring. The storyline was at times tragic, but captured the losses of the time, and the consequences of them. After reading this book I wanted to learn more about the chemical composition of our world, and I felt encouraged and inspired to go learn new things myself.

Quirky story that overall I really liked. Occasionally dragged a bit but the characters kept drawing me back.

Always love a book about an independent woman- especially a scientist and a mother!
