Last Patient of the Night: An AJ Docker Medical Thriller (An AJ Docker and Banshee Thriller Book 1)

MASH meets Bosch-with a scalpel.

When a young woman dies in his ER, emergency physician AJ Docker can't let it go.

She arrived beaten. Tortured. Fingertips severed. No name. No ID. Before he could save her, she was gone.

In Houston's busiest trauma center, death is part of the job. But this one is different. Hours earlier she was alive, frightened, hiding something. Now she's a Jane Doe in the morgue.

The police call it homicide. Docker calls it unfinished business.

Partnering with a streetwise cop and K-9 Banshee, Docker steps beyond hospital walls into a criminal underworld more dangerous than anything inside the ER. As the trail winds through tattoo parlors, gang territory, and ruthless operators who silence witnesses, Docker risks his career-and his life-to uncover the truth.

Fast-paced and gritty, Last Patient of the Night launches the AJ Docker series with authentic ER drama, sharp humor, and relentless tension.

If you like Michael Connelly, high-stakes medical suspense, and justice with consequences, this thriller will keep you turning pages well past midnight.

The best thing this book offers is a good laugh. Sure, lets just stick a breathing tube down everyone's throat that'll solve the problem. I'm so glad 'Dr. Ignore the Hippocratic Oath' is here to beat up the bad guys (who are all minorities, by the way), break all the rules of the law, and save the day. He's sooooo cool.

Not my cup of tea. This a book for guys. The main character is too good to be true. The plot wasn’t terrible but it seemed very unbelievable. He’s an athletic emergency room doctor, amateur detective who is always ahead of the actual police, apparently a marksman, his coworkers love him, and he’s so good looking beautiful women throw themselves at him left and right, no strings attached! I envy his spare time. Good for him but I found him annoying.
