Last First Kiss: A Brightwater Novel

A kiss is just the beginning…

Pinterest Perfect. Or so Annie Carson's life appears on her popular blog. Reality is ... messier. Especially when it lands her back in one-cow town Brightwater, California, and back in the path of the gorgeous six-foot-four reason she left. Sawyer Kane may fill out those Wranglers, but she won't be distracted from her task. Annie just needs the summer to spruce up and sell her family's farm so she and her young son can start a new life in the big city. Simple, easy, perfect.

Sawyer has always regretted letting the first girl he loved slip away. He won't make the same mistake twice, but can he convince beautiful, wary Annie to trust her heart again when she's been given every reason not to? And as a single kiss turns to so much more, can Annie give up her idea of perfect for a forever that's blissfully real?

It seems that second chance romances are becoming my THING, so when I was asked to review Last First Kiss, I jumped on the chance. Add in small town and a cowboy? SOLD.

I just adored this book! I was hooked from the first page and finished this relatively fast. Lia's writing is engaging and I loved the blog posts that were written by Annie. I love it when we get to know a character this way. Not to mention, this book is just flat-out hilarious!

I loved Annie! She is a life blogger - and I connected with the pressures of having an online presence, all the while, trying to take care of your home. (Different blog, same problem! haha) Being a mom, I understood her hesitations about wanting to stay in a place that wasn't kind to her as a kid - especially with her family's history and the "feud" between the neighboring farm. She is strong, stubborn and kind - just wanting to do what's best of her and her son and her desire to be MORE was relate-able as well.

Sawyer is THE ultimate sweet cowboy. He is a strong family man - and was initially content to remain a bachelor after his fiance left him. I applaud his patience with Annie and how he was willing to accept the full package deal from Annie. There were some super sweet scenes with him and Atticus that just made my heart swell!

The chemistry between him and Annie was amazing - never really fading after the ten years spent apart. They had so many sweet moments together, and a few hot scenes too! I also loved it was low on the angst, and more about finding yourself and love.

Small note - Grandma Kane is kind of scary. She is quite hilarious though, and I can't wait to see what is up here sleeve in the remaining books!

Last First Kiss was a great start to a new series. Sweet, sexy and hilarious, I highly recommend to all fans of contemporary romance. And cowboys.
