“A dark, twisty confection.”Ruth Ware

“Absolutely gripping.”Louise Penny

For readers of Gillian Flynn and Tana French comes one of the decade’s most anticipated debuts, to be published in thirty-six languages around the world and already in development as a major film from Fox: a twisty, powerful Hitchcockian thriller about an agoraphobic woman who believes she witnessed a crime in a neighboring house.

It isn’t paranoia if it’s really happening...

Anna Fox lives alone—a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times . . . and spying on her neighbors.

Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, a mother, their teenage son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn’t, her world begins to crumble—and its shocking secrets are laid bare.

What is real? What is imagined? Who is in danger? Who is in control? In this diabolically gripping thriller, no one—and nothing—is what it seems.

Twisty and powerful, ingenious and moving, The Woman in the Window is a smart, sophisticated novel of psychological suspense that recalls the best of Hitchcock.

Twists and turns

This was quite the roller coaster. I spent the first half of the book wondering what was real, what was the mind of a crazy person. In the second half, answers start to reveal themselves but I did not see the twist at the end coming. I didn’t really like any of the characters, they are all very flawed.

A book full of twists and turns, just when you think you are on the right path, something will change and you are back to guessing again. I really like this as you have to expect the unexpected and are usually left wide mouthed by the end. This book definitely did this.
I couldn’t put it down, it was fantastic. For a debut novel A.J. Finn did an amazing job at drawing their audience in. I can’t wait to read more from the author.

Entirely too long.

A couple of good twists, but the major/final twist was obvious from about halfway.

This was a very slow start for me, but when I am glad I kept at it for it had nice twists and good suspense overall.

At first I wasn’t sure about this story. I thought it was going to be too similar to others I. The past. This one took a different approach which kept me interested. I wanted to know why. I ended up really enjoying this book and I felt the twists toward the end were great. I didn’t see them coming.
