Killer Kung Pao: A Noodle Shop Mystery (A Noodle Shop Mystery, 6)

i was little more eh about the mystery in this book, but tbh, I am not reading this series for the mystery at this point. I loved continuing to get to know all the side characters and having them come back each time and get more involved with the plot through different means. I mean, it probably doesn't make sense that there are so many murders in this one shopping plaza (or they have the worst luck ever!), but it makes for good character exploration. I don't say development because I don't feel like there's really much of that as all, but I still enjoy learning more about different characters' lives. What I did like about the mystery was the fact that it ended up ||being the main suspect all along||. Often, mysteries are super complex and twisty, but the fact that it was simple actually made it even more surprising than if it was twisty. But on the other hand, I didn't love that the mystery was solved basically by a random sighting essentially rather than more deductive detective work.

I agree that Lana feels a little naive and too blatant in how she asks her questions. I would appreciate some character growth and development, but I also know that this series isn't exactly that deep, so I wouldn't be surprised if things stayed the same. I'm super interested to find out more about Lana's sister's secret bf and how that develops. I also want more Adam/Lana please!
