Really enjoyed the differences between the book and the movie. I only wish the rest of the book had the same shock and horror as the first few chapters. I think there was a touch too much Ian Malcolms drug addled rants, and they needed a good edit.

The Ending lacked some lustre and felt a little forced.

The scientific thriller that defined an era, darker and more philosophical than the film.
Anyone familiar only with Spielberg's movie will find Michael Crichton's novel a more complex, cynical, and deeply unsettling experience. Jurassic Park is a masterpiece of technological suspense that masterfully blends genetics, chaos theory, and a critique of capitalist hubris. The pace is relentless, the horror and escape scenes are described with visceral realism (often more graphic than the film), and the philosophical debate on the responsibility of science is perfectly integrated into the plot. Crichton was a master at making even the most fanciful premises credible through meticulous scientific research. The book shines with its sharp dialogues and an atmosphere of growing paranoia. Compared to the film, some characters are more subtle (Dr. Grant is less paternal, Ian Malcolm is more caustic) and the ending is more ambiguous and bitter. It remains a gripping and prophetic read about technology out of control.

Great read! I'd have to say that it is even better than the movie. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting an immersive experience into the past when dinosaurs once ruled the earth.

I am shocked by how much I liked this book. So well thought out, creative, a great combination of philosophy, predictive nonfiction, and science fiction. (I know, I was surprised too!)
I’d recommend this book in a heartbeat.

I only wish I could go back to read it somehow before I knew that it was about dinosaurs. You don’t actually find out the whole “dinosaurs brought to life” thing til 25% of the way through the book and I can just Imagine that it was an AMAZING turn of the story if you weren’t expecting it.

Worth reading even if you saw the movies- the plot is different (premise is the same) and there is just soooo much more to the book.
