I really enjoyed Kelley Armstrong's young adult series as well as the first few books in this series, but I put off listening to this book for a long time because I didn't really care about the character of Paige. And even when I started listening, it was slow going at first.

But eventually I found things to like about Paige and became curious about the goings on of covens and cabals and so on. I'll consider listening to the next one in the series, but it isn't high on my list.

Industrial Magic is the book that made me fall completely in love with Paige and Lucas. What began as a fascinating glimpse into the witch and Cabal world in Dime Store Magic evolves here into something epic — full of danger, politics, and a love story that feels achingly real.

Kelley Armstrong shines brightest when she’s balancing emotion and tension, and this book is a perfect example. The mystery at the heart of the story is compelling, but it’s the relationships — the loyalty, the unexpected alliances, and the quiet acts of courage — that make it unforgettable. Paige’s strength and compassion, paired with Lucas’s quiet integrity, create a dynamic that feels genuine and earned.

I also love how Industrial Magic broadens the Otherworld’s reach. The stakes are higher, but so are the emotions. It’s filled with witty dialogue, gripping twists, and moments of genuine warmth that make you care about every single character.

This book is proof that Armstrong’s magic isn’t just in her worldbuilding — it’s in her understanding of people.
