I anticipated that this would be better. Julia Lerner was a fantastic character- I was actually rooting for her somewhat and I understood how her mind worked. Alice Lu was a terribly unlikeable character. Weak, whiny, spineless, and completely unaware of how lucky she was. The ending was sort of a let down as well. I liked the book during the whole thing and then it just abruptly ended.
