I LOVED IT SO MUCH!! so sad that I only read this book now but I cannot wait to go through the whole series again and be with JS and SD
Chilling murder mystery and police procedural set in Duluth MN and Las Vegas. The story starts with Stride, a detective who has been recently widowed. He investigates the disappearance of a 17 yr old girl in Duluth. The case goes to court even though they don't have a body. Then things go off the rails. A couple of surprises at the end and detailed characterizations of all the lead characters. Truly makes the reader wonder, what causes immorality ? and how far can it go?
I have conflicting feelings about this novel. It was neither good nor bad.
I enjoyed the fact that the middle of the book ends one story and picks up another but stays with the same characters. It's difficult to explain to those who haven't read it, obviously, but it's the way Immoral went. It's a unique take on the crime thriller layout. I just didn't feel a grand connection to any of the characters. I didn't feel anything for anyone. To me, it was like being told a story about people that I didn't know, nor did I want to. I liked the story that was being relayed, but I wasn't invested.
Immoral is still a decent read for anyone looking for a generic detective crime thriller.
