Flowers in the Attic was so bad it was good.
Petals on the Wind was awesomely bad.
This was just bad.
Like, watch out for some dated language. And how did the dialogue get worse? Where is the Cathy we all love? And you seriously had to write Corrine back into this? Then you have Cathy’s children. Bart who is 10 but acts and thinks like a 6 year old. Jory who is 14 but acts and thinks like he is ten.
I don’t remember disliking this one as much as I have with this re-read.
Not a high point, but I guess a necessary evil if you want to know how the original series ends.

It is the dramatic conclusion to the Dollanganger series, tying up the tumultuous saga of the four siblings. The novel is full of shocking twists and dark family secrets, as it explores themes of revenge, love, and betrayal. Andrews' signature style of emotional turmoil and gothic intrigue is ever-present, and while the characters continue to grapple with the haunting consequences of their past, the narrative provides a satisfying if tragic end to their journey. Fans of the series will find this a compelling, if intense, conclusion.
