If Only I Had Told Her

An intensely emotional and gripping companion novel to Laura Nowlin's USA Today and New York Times Bestselling novel If He Had Been With Me about the love that both breaks and heals us. Perfect for fans of Colleen Hoover and Jenny Han.

If only I'd told her that I loved her years ago, then I wouldn't be here now.

Finn has always loved Autumn. She's not just the girl next door or his mother's best friend's daughter, she is his everything. But she's not his girlfriend. That's Sylvie, and Finn would never hurt her, so there's no way Autumn could know how he truly feels.

Jack, Finn's best friend, isn't so sure. He's seen Finn and Autumn together. How could she not know? And how is he supposed to support and protect Finn when heartache seems inevitable?

Autumn surrounds herself with books and wants to write her own destiny--but one doesn't always get a new chapter and fate can be cruel to those in love.

Told through three different perspectives, If Only I Had Told Her is a love story brimming with truth, tragedy, and the unexpected bonds that heal us.

I mistakenly picked up this book first instead of [b:If he had been with me|209012789|If he had been with me|Laura Nowlin|https:i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1708601074l/209012789._SY75_.jpg|215151746], got about 40% through, realized I was reading the sequel, stopped reading (after I get to Finn's death), picked up the first book, finished it, then grabbed this one where I left off.

I enjoyed this book so much more than the first installment! I was not a fan of Autumn in the first book. I loved seeing Finn's POV in the first 1/3 of this book. His account of events actually made me believe in their love story. I loved Jack's POV. I actually would have loved a bigger recount from Jack's POV. I was glad to see Autumn became more bearable. She undoubtedly had to grow up pretty quickly after the events of the first book. I hate that there was no resolution or promise that everything was indeed going to be ok though.

this started a 5/5 and stayed a 5/5 because I knew the plot. Reading the different POV though just made me love it that much more. It made it so much more authentic because like I’m always told there are 2 sides to every story.

I was so upset at the ending of book 1, I had to immediately read this one. Being from St. Louis the places were familiar making it even more real. It's a page-turner that takes you on an emotional roller coaster. The story’s depth and intensity creates such a compelling narrative that’s hard to put down. With each chapter, you are drawn deeper into the characters' lives and their secrets, making it a truly gripping read. You feel their pain. If you have lost someone and have so many things that you wish you would have said, or that you wonder how could you miss. It will hit you hard. Nowlin's writing style is both powerful and poignant, capturing the raw emotions and complex relationships that drive the story. For anyone looking for a novel that will keep them engaged from start to finish and leave them feeling deeply moved, this book is a must-read.

This book basically explains everything I didn't understand in the 1st book, but we get an additional story from other characters showing us how they move on after Finny's death.

I wish Finny's dad got to spend more time with him.
