It helps the reader put themselves in the mindset of the authors of books like senecas letters and Marcus Aurelius’s meditations. After proving context and it helps you put the lessons of these ancient texts into a modern day practical use and how to adapt these philosophical ideals too a modern day. The stoic philosophy can be a great tool to help with accepting what we can and cannot control and a great help with grief and many other issues of the modern human.
