It started off slow and generic. There are some good points in the book though. I especially liked Maxwell’s thoughts about going against popular thought processes and putting others first.

I picked this up because I wanted to hear something new on creative thinking but most of what he talked about has already been covered by other “experts” in his field. Read Brian Tracy or Anthony Robbins and you’ll understand.

I was also hoping to get insight on what to do with my thoughts in a business or culture where the guys on top don’t take other’s thoughts into consideration. Maxwell didn’t bring any new insight to this particular problem. Like with most books of this genre it needs to be broad brush strokes of ideas otherwise the author will be alienating most of his or her audience.

This is a good book for analytical thinkers. It is essentially a list of ideas strung together and segued by quotes of famous and influential thinkers or stories of successful thinkers. He also has questions that challenge the reader at the end of each chapter whcich is a strong point.
