Chloe and Rafe have been friends ever since her mother abandoned her in Wolf Springs, Colorado. On graduation day from High School, Rafe proposed and she, wanting nothing more than to be a part of and have a family, accepted. At twenty-five years old, though, they are still engaged and she has yet to go into her first heat. While Rafe loves her and will do anything for her, it is clear to his parents that their son and Chloe may not be a good match, that he may be better off with another wolf as much as they love and hold Chloe dear to their hearts. Deep inside, Chloe is also relieved that her first heat hasn't started, that she is no closer to mating with Rafe as he is her best friend and has been since childhood. When a Viking wolf from the past emerges from the portal on the mountain - a portal that is monitored in the town made up of all wolves - she and this man (Fenris) find they are fated mates and he will stop at nothing to claim her and take her back in time with him. I did enjoy this story! While there wasn't much action or plot - it could have had more meat to it - it was very enjoyable for what it did have. The characters were definitely there, but could have been more developed. However, I'm not going to hold that against it though! I rather enjoyed the ending. It ended with a completely different set of characters (wolves from Alaska) doing research on the characters the audience has already been reading about since the start, which I thoroughly enjoyed and look forward to seeing the story continue from their perspetive (hopefully)!
