Aaah, definitely the best book in the series and also my favorite SJ Maas book so far!! I am impressed, to say the least. This book felt so much more mature than the first two - the characters grew, the world was expanded and fleshed out, and the plot became infinitely more interesting. Absolutely loved it. The climax of the book was excellently written and made me want to die of pure excitement. I also enjoyed the new introduction of the witches' storyline as it gives you more depth and characters to get invested in. It's been a little bit since a book has made me feel like this. ❤️‍ ⭐

What can I say!? Sarah Maas did a masterful job telling three stories in ONE! We get to see Celena’s continued growth into Aelin (spoiler) Heir (Fae) of Fire (Fireheart) and learn about her childhood making her who she is. We get to see her healing and an amazing friendship grow with Rowan. We also learn about the witches and Manon- learning how to prepare for a war on Abraxos and other wavyrns. Finally, parallel to all this we learn how Chaol grapples with what side he needs to be on, Dorian falling in love but then getting trapped, and meet Aedion who is loyal to the core! He reminds me of Rhysand (from ACOTAR) in his loyalty but will get dirty if he has to. It does leave you hanging because there is so much story left!
