This was a story about a very dysfunctional family as they try to survive one last family trip. Literally.
They're re-tracing the route of the roadtrip made with their grandfather when younger. It's not like they want to spend more time with each other - they have to, in order to inherit.
These are not nice people, including the narrator (but she was my fav). There's a creepy vibe throughout as characters try to outwit each other. While some of the issues these family members suffered would provide sympathy normally, their self absorption and lack of... ethics? compassion? still made them vile and unsympathetic. Only one character seemed self-aware to this reader.
It was the ending that made this book memorable for me and I recommend for thriller/mystery fans. This is not the book for you if unlike-able characters annoy you.
