This volume was alright, I suppose. I guess nothing could really top the epic-ness that was Fraction's Hawkeye, but this volume did an okay job with following it up. There were two storylines and I felt like they were trying to force parallels between the storylines. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. I did like seeing Clint's past, but at parts, I felt like the main storyline was being ignored for it. In truth, I wasn't really fond of the main storyline much, and I definitely didn't like how the storyline ended for this volume. The time jump felt really weird and didn't really make much sense to me. I'll see where they go with it, but this comic definitely leaves something lacking, especially compared to the Fraction run.
I thought I'd remain dramatically draped over the sofa arm whining that no one could take the place of the previous duo and Volume 5 was gonna suck but then...

Besides being beautiful, this art really made me feel like I was in the past with Clint and Barney. Present day art was also good with a similar (mmm...campy?) look that the previous volumes had going on. It was a cool contrast to make sure I knew where I was with the story. Because, you know, sometimes I need a little help.
Less yuks and more heart in this volume, which was something I was cool with. I cared what had happened to the boys when they were young. I cared what happened to thosehideous science experiments children. I even worried about Clint's hearing more than ever before. What am I now? His mother?
