Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is a compelling and thought-provoking continuation of the Harry Potter saga. It skillfully balances action, mystery, and emotional depth, making it a standout in the series. Fans of the series will find it a richly rewarding read, and its themes of courage and resistance remain resonant.

This book is my least favorite book in the whole series, mostly because no one actually seems to be doing anything logically except for Hermione. Everyone else is just running around letting their emotions get the best of them (read: Harry and Sirius) and yelling at people when it would be better to take a more sneaky and calm approach and I just spent the whole book being furious and exasperated at Harry for most of it.

Then again, I suppose that is a sign of good writing that gets me so worked up about the characters!

Also it dragged a little bit in the beginning - I think everything that happened before going back to Hogwarts took almost 200 pages. Things started moving along a little better once they were back at Hogwarts, but that was when I started really being irritated at Harry all the time. He just was so moody and was a jerk to his friends and tbh if I were his friend, I wouldn't be by the time the book was over. And he just acts in an emotional, illogical manner and he can't just take his anger and put it away when it was necessary and tbh I don't like Snape as a person, but I couldn't help but agree with him when he said that Harry's tendency to just act on his emotions and anger made him weak and easily manipulated.

So overall the book/writing was good, but emotionally, I still can't stand most everyone in this one.
