So, my love for Sci-fi themed heist is on the rise. Hammajang Luck gives readers witty banter, high-stakes, a crew of quirky misfit thieves planning to take down a corrupt tech billionaire who's only concerned with the bottom line rather than the lives he's harmed.
Fresh out of jail, Eddie is eager to get back to her life and her family and putting their past partnership behind them. But finding work is difficult and their needs the money. Reluctantly, they agree to be apart of a challenging heist. But the most challenging aspect is working with the partner who stabbed them in the back and sent them to prison.
Eddie was a likable character in my eyes. I empathized with them over the time they lost with their family and coming back to a neighborhood where residents are being prized out as gentrification takes root. One of my favorite details about this story was watching how Eddie interacted with the tech advancements that have swept the wards while they were in prison. Very cyberpunk meets Oceans Eleven.
So this book is perfect for fans of Oceans 8 (and the whole franchise) and Leverage.
