Award-winning author Tiffany D. Jackson delivers
another riveting, ripped-from-the-headlines mystery that exposes horrific
secrets hiding behind the limelight and embraces the power of a young woman’s
voice.

When legendary R&B artist Korey
Fields spots Enchanted Jones at an audition, her dreams of being a famous
singer take flight. Until Enchanted wakes up with blood on her hands and zero
memory of the previous night. Who killed Korey Fields?

Before
there was a dead body, Enchanted’s dreams had turned into a nightmare. Because
behind Korey’s charm and star power was a controlling dark side. Now he’s dead,
the police are at the door, and all signs point to Enchanted.
“Never
have I read a story that so flawlessly hits the highest high and lowest low
notes of Black girlhood in pursuit of the American Dream.”
—Nic Stone, New York Times bestselling author of Dear Martin and Jackpot

I enjoyed the overall story as it’s one I can relate to in a way. I hated how they painted her as “crazy” instead of believing her. There were a few parts that I wish could’ve been better actually. I also think the ending could’ve been better. Overall, I give the book a 7/10.

Can be a bit triggering but I appreciate this author writing a book highlighting things that have been normalized in our society that we should remain aware of.

My heart hurts!!! I want to give this a higher rating because it really is a page turner, but I can't. I feel slightly traumatized. I def should've read the trigger warnings. I feel so many feelings. My heart goes out to every single Enchanted out there. I'm happy about the ending. It wasn't rapped up as tightly I I would've liked. I wish we could know what happened next for Enchanted. Like maybe the next 6 months after the "killer" was arrested. I have some unanswered questions but I wouldn't read a part two of this. That damn Tiffany always leaves me with a little more trauma than I had before. 😅 Idk when I'll pick up another book of hers. I think it's been two years since I read one. This story was HEAVY.

Wow! I might need a minute to recover from this roller coaster of a book.
