The book was utter perfection. I’m starting to think everything from Mrs. Ryan is! Grip is so suave, so smooth, so sexy, so hood! I don’t know what it is about him but I was jealous of Bristol. Cause this man is EVERYTHING! He’s honest and open, brave and very emotionally intelligent. I absolutely love when a man knows what he wants and doesn’t slap up when it comes to getting it. I don’t even want to touch on his sexual prowess cause the man puts it down! But that aside the book goes deep into racism and how it affects everyone. It also spreads a light on how some people can be oblivious to racism and how real and dangerous it can be. The story line was perfect and even though heavy topics were discussed it was in a way that helps both sides on the coin to be in the spotlight without putting one above the other. Bristol is also a very interesting character. Her growth from the prequel is definitely interesting and she was already pretty perfect minus her slight trauma from her family. I love how every crack was either mended to being worked on. The book had a lot of healing and the epilogue made me weepy. She is very strong and loyal to the people she loved. When they going got tough I was a little scared that she would give in but thankfully it all worked out. I can’t wait to read the third book. I hope they don’t go through all kinds of hurdles in the other book. Cause despite how beautiful the story was they been through it lol. And it took them almost 10 years!!!! The writing style and flow is also quite nice. Long stretches of time would pass and it didn’t even feel like it. Overall the story is a healthy dose of black love in its purest and most potent form and I loved it.
